Create your own translucent glass mosaic! Glass on Glass mosaics have an appearance similar to stained glass, where light shines through the semitransparent colored glass. The materials are grouted instead of using lead to bind the pieces in place. They look beautiful when displayed in windows.
Each student will be guided through the design process to create an 8” x 10” Glass on Glass mosaic for interior display. GOG mosaic design, the indirect method, and grouting technique will be demonstrated. Adhesives, substrates, terminology, finishing will be presented. No previous mosaic experience necessary. However, the more mosaic experience you have determines the detail in your mosaic. I have many templates to choose from, so no illustration is necessary. You can do this.
